The Bell for the Fallen
Maria Dolens (that’s the bell’s name) was built in 1924 by melting together World War I cannons and even today, it’s the largest bell in the world.
Located on Miravalle Hill, over time the Bell of the Fallen has become a symbol of peace and brotherhood among all people of the world; for almost a century, every day in the town of Rovereto, the sunset has been accompanied by one hundred strokes of the Maria Dolens bell not to forget that “We don’t like war”.
