Not far away, you will find Juliet’s House with its famous balcony; a place that every year welcomes thousands of visitors fascinated by Romeo and Juliet, the two lovers whose story was told by Shakespeare in his well known tragedy.

The most important Ecumenical Council of the Modern Age (1545-63) was held in Trento, a city that at that time was already a unique meeting point of European cultures. An incredibly culturally rich city, especially thanks to this extraordinary mix and its prestigious University.

To admire its beauty, you only need to walk through its streets: from the Cathedral to the enchanting square with the Fountain of Neptune and then buildings adorned with frescoes, signs of the Habsburg domination, towers and alleys, the Castle of Buonconsiglio which was in the past the sumptuous residence of the Prince Bishop of Trento and a museum today.

The new Science Museum, the renowned MUSE designed by Renzo Piano. Other interesting places are the Diocesan Museum, Piedicastello Art Galleries, the Caproni Museum of Aviation.

Summer events include the internationally renowned Festival of Economics. Also an important festival in honour of Saint Vigilius, the patron saint of Trento.

In winter, Mount Bondone turns into the perfect place for Alpine skiing, Nordic skiing and snowboarding, while the city becomes imbued with the magical atmosphere of the Christmas Market.
