Rovereto University, part of the University of Trento, is a very important research centre in the field of cognitive science at national and international level. It is the seat of the Department of Psychology and Cognitive Science and the CIMeC – Interdepartmental Mind and Brain Centre.

From September to July, professors, researchers and students populate the city, giving lectures and conferences. Teachers, researchers and professors can find in Residence Del Messaggero all they need during their stay in Rovereto for a few days or for the whole academic year.

Founded in 1987 as a functional department of the Autonomous Province of Trento, the Mart is one the most important museums of Modern and Contemporary arts in Europe.

It’s a meeting point and a cultural centre for all people in the surrounding areas and a source of inspiration for visitors, artists, collectors, companies and local communities.

The museum can boast a collection of over 20,000 pieces which represent all the major art movements of the last century: Futurism, Novecento Italiano, Metaphysical Art, Abstract Art, Pop Art, Arte Povera up to the most recent art movements.

COME ARRIVARE:

Maria Dolens (that’s the bell’s name) was built in 1924 by melting together World War I cannons and even today, it’s the largest bell in the world.

Located on Miravalle Hill, over time the Bell of the Fallen has become a symbol of peace and brotherhood among all people of the world; for almost a century, every day in the town of Rovereto, the sunset has been accompanied by one hundred strokes of the Maria Dolens bell not to forget that “We don’t like war”.

HOW TO ARRIVE:

Opened in 1957 in Rovereto’s refined mediaeval old town, Depero’s Futurist Art Gallery is the only museum founded by a futurist.

The museum was personally supervised by Fortunato Depero and inside it houses various objects donated to his city by the artist himself, including paintings, illustrations, toys and furniture.
